Hallooo! I’m Annie – the only one of the Mamas here who ain’t yet a “mama”. I love my girls – we’ve been through many years and many memories – so I’m here as a wife & friend and if/when the baby stuff starts a-happenin’…I will have loads to share and luckily a whole gaggle of gals to learn from!
I’ve been a bit of a roamer since I was young, so after a series of adventures in some crazy places (way too late to this blogging thing!), I now find myself in London (again), with a new job, newly married and (gulp) buying my first house! I’m sure there’s a rule about not having too many life changes at once… but of course I have ignored it all, thrown caution to the wind and will undoubtedly be careening to chaos at any moment.
I love politics, travel, new cultures and adventures. And while my day job is advertising, it must be said I absolutely love cooking (she said, somewhat sheepishly). Hunting down a long-forgotten recipe, trying to re-create things I’ve eaten somewhere on my travels, practicing my soufflé 15 times to get it right – you name it, elbows deep in pierogi dough, I love it all. This does mean that my fridge is packed with all kinds of weird sauces and condiments, making it tough to rummage through when going for a cheese sandwich. To add to this, I have recently discovered a mild obsession with food and interior design blogs (payback for years of living in furnished apartments) – which makes me superior evening company, as my husband probably can confirm.
I am new to this thing the kids call blogging, so in the interest of full disclosure, it may from time to time be filled with random musings about America vs. Britain, used as a cathartic outlet for my TJMaxx obsessions, or generally just to post (inevitably with poor lighting) whatever I am eating/cooking. You have been warned…I am pretty sure there is nothing worse than someone who is “just getting a hang of this blogging thing”. Enjoy.

Anne – I'm so excited about this news and couldn't be happier for you and Dan! Hang in there… the best is yet to come!
