Heather

Hello!  I’m Heather.  A pain-in-the-ass, yet supportive wife to Matt for the last 7 years and a “what the hell am I doing?!” mommy to Brady (4) and Cole (born July 2012).  Almost 3 years ago, I let the Hubs talk me into moving 2,000 miles away from Chicago to Northern California.  That makes me part of the West Coast contingency of this here blog and is why keeping in touch with my girls is a huge priority. Chances are we’ll end up back in Chicago one day, but for now, I’m soaking up all the sun I can get  (slathered in baby oil SPF 30, of course).

Once a full-time advertising professional/triathlete/city-girl, I’m now trying my hand at being a suburban work-from-home mom/social media guru/dinosaur and truck wrangler.  After spending time on either ends of the spectrum I’ve discovered being somewhere in the middle works the best for me!

I enjoy starting all kinds of new things, but rarely have the time to finish them.  Books, crafts, laundry, cups of coffee… you name it.  My hobbies-of-the-moment include photography, chronicling “all things Brady” on our family blog, and yoga.  My triathlon days are likely over, but I aspire to run a marathon before I die.  Or die running a marathon…  The best purchase I’ve ever made was my Canon Rebel XS and if money was no object, I’d buy every lens under the sun.  And if time was abundant, I’d actually learn how to use them!  There is nothing better than capturing a moment just right.

Hmmm, what else…

I love blogging.  That includes designing, writing and reading, so if you have a “mommy blog” out there, I’ve probably checked it out.  I’m a perfectionist, almost to a fault.  I’m learning to be a morning person.  I have a hard time saying no and always take on too much.  I love organizing and creating spreadsheets.  I’m a neat freak who never makes my bed.  I love reading, traveling and *gasp* working out.  My husband and I have been to amazing destinations like Hawaii, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece, but Las Vegas is still my #1 vacation spot.  I just love me some roulette!  I can eat my weight in pump cheese, but won’t touch am trying to eat more vegetables.  Biggest vice… chocolate.  Oh, and I’m a TV junkie.

Family (and that includes friends!) is the most important thing in the world to me.  Nothing makes me happier than being surrounded by the people I love.  My mom is my hero, my sister is my best friend, and my nieces Aubrey & Reese will be gagging on pink tutus and sparkly shoes if I don’t have a daughter of my own one day.
